Another name for this climber is Exotic Love. This is another Ipomoea species that has become a must have plant in my garden, every year. Like the Ipomoea tricolor below, it is sensitive to cold when young and is set back if planted out too early. These are planted in a large pot and allowed to climb up some canes and fill the top with flowers. When this happens the whole top looks as though it is on fire. Unlike other Ipomoea species the leaves are deeply lobed and almost trifoilate. It is also suceptable to red spider mite which must be kept in control. Plenty of feed and water is required for best results.
