This hardy perennial provides a mass of yellow flowers in late spring and flowers for a long time. The leaves then provide interest covering the pond edge and softening the hard brickwork. In combination with the Astilbe it provides a tall and short contrast. In the latter part of the summer it tends to aquire powdery mildew which kills the leaves. It soon regrows and recovers. I do some careful spraying to avoid harming the fishes.
