This year I will need the Dahlias to flower much earlier therefore I am diging them up and potting them on to get them into growth earlier than they would otherwise. By keeping them in the greenhouse which is much warmer they will start to shoot and flower much earlier. This year I want to try and do what the professionals do by taking cuttings and growing them on. This according to them helps to reduce the build up of disease and produce stronger plants with better flowers. I only hope I have enough time to do it all. What I do to help reduce soil base pathogens is to water the area that they grow with Jayes fluid as I usually grow then in the same area of the garden every year.
