The flowering shoots of the Strilitzia regina depends on it getting enough sunshine during the year and having a cool winter. I leave this plant outside in the summer and autumn even though our summers are a little too cold for its liking. The leaves do not open as flat as they would do in a warmer climate, but it does flower and get larger every year. This year I will have to make a new pot for it as the roots are pushing it out of its present pot.
