Go back to weekly blog

The fish pond water is very clear and the fishes can be seen clearly. It is worth inspecting them now for disease and damage. Some like the tench are difficult to spot as they hide where I do not know. I had four for many years, but this year I have only seen three together at once. In a small pond like this I often wonder where they hide, but disappear they do for weeks on end. The rud, Koi and Carp are much easier to see. At this cold time of the year usually below ten degrees feeding is almost totally stopped, but when the days are warmer I give a little feed of wheatgerm just in case.
