As the Begonia southerlandii starts to shut down with the onset of the cold temperatures they start to produce these bulblets that look like miniture potatoes with roots. These can be collected and planted in the spring to produce more plants. Some will fall to the ground and restart making the plant much more dense. For a plant that will flower until it gets cold this one is hard to beat.
