I just love this Acer its fine feathered bronze leaves all emerge at once in the Spring with a few more later in the summer. I have now had this one for about three to four years and initially nearly killed it by placing it in too much sun. It is now in a north facing position and only receives sunlight in the afternoon from late spring to early autumn. It is also overhanging the fish pond giving an interesting look in front of the waterfall. Although it is watered with tap water every few weeks I give it an acidic watering with some water containing Spirits of Salts (Hydrochloric acid). It has now survived three winters in this position, including the last which was very hard with temperatures well below freezing.
