Theses Begonia Rex plants really comes int their own in shady areas. They are pretty tough and often comes back after the frost if the rhizomes are protected. I bring thee indoors for the winter and place them in the shade below the larger plants. I then split and re-pot them, planting the rhizomes lower into the soil. If the rhizomes are too long I chop them up to produce more plants. This is a very easy plant to propagate as the veins in the leaf will also produce new plantlets if they are pegged down and given a little light. They are many different combination of colours to choose from which brighten up a shady area.
