It is easy to see why this unusual plant is called the lipstick plant as the flowers look like lipstick coming out of its tube. It is an evergreen and the reflexed leaves makes it resemble a corkscrew. The flower clusters last for about 3 to 4 weeks and are produced at the tips of new growth. This plant will require heat during the day and night to produce its flowers.
