Cyclamen like light bright airy spots indoors; not too sunny or hot. Places near a heat source should be avoided if you want your plant to live longer and continue flowering. Cyclamen like cooler temperatures on patios, balconies and windowboxes, but they do not like it too cold and frost will kill them unlike the Hardy Cyclamen. Over-watering is the easiest way of killing them. They are best watered by soaking the pot in water and allowing the excess to drain away. They come in a large variety of colours and there are also ones with frilly edged flowers. Feeding is important during flowering. The bulb goes semi-dormant in the summer when they can be left to dry out somewhat.
