This robust clump forming Centaurea is hardy and from Turkey. Its erect stems Produce these unusual gold bracts which is produced bright yellow flowerheads, much like a thistle flower. After the flower has faded the bracts remain to give interest for a long time. The bright yellow contrasts well with the light green hairy leaves making the plant striking when in flower. The plant reaches up to about 2 feet(60cm) after growth begins in the spring and flowers in early summer.
