This is one of the best known Eremurus in gardens, with a huge flower-stem 6 to 10 feet high, bearing a dense raceme of peach-shaped lilac flowers nearly 2 inches in diameter. It is hardy, and can even force its way through frozen ground. It flowers in late spring to early summer and then slowly dies down until the following year. This makes it a good plant for double planting.
