Established in 1804, the Royal Horticultural Society is now the UK's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening. Our goal is to help people share a passion for plants, to encourage excellence in horticulture and inspire all those with an interest in gardening.
National Garden Scheme
Ngs Members of the National Garden Scheme open their gardens to the public for a small charge. Monies collected from the entrance fee, teas, cakes, raffels and plant sales goes to various charities such as the Macmillan nurses, cancer research.In 2004 the National Gardens Scheme donated over £1.8 million to its beneficiaries. More than £22 million has been donated to charity since the NGS began in 1927.

WVRA
Wvra The Walthamstow Village Residents Association is a group of present and former village residents that every 1st Saturdey of each month goes around the village and tidy up the flowerbeds, paint lamp posts, look after the muesuem and other community gardens. New residents are encourage to join in the activities and become a member. ~ £10 per year. They also liase with the Council and enter the village in the London in Bloom and Britain in bloom. Last year we received a gold and a Silver medal in these compitetion. There is also a Facebook page where you can see some of the activities the WVRA gets up to for the benifit of the village. For three years running we won the best urban community in the above competitions.

Gardening with Kids
Gardenkids One of the community coordinators for my library. With Spring upon us, we're volunteering at our local Youth Center to teach the kids about gardening. I love to get kids excited about flowers and plants at a young age! Some of my favorite memories are gardening with my Grandfather when I was young...he always had the BEST tomatoes!
