Last year was the first time I left my large bougainvillea outside covered with bubble wrap. This year it has grown even larger and I have covered it bitter with bubble-wrap against the house. Care must be taken with bubble-wrap otherwise condensation will occur inside and rot the plant. Therefore ventilation is necessary. I think that the heat from the house is keeping it much warmer than the outside temperature. I can still see flowers through the bubble-wrap and know that it is still growing OK.
