When I saw this palnt I just have to buy it. I have the smaller flowering Dutchmans pipe in my front room, But this large flowering variety is spectacular. What an exotic flower from Brazil, but what is ones exotic flowering plant often seen at Kew Gardens is another countrys distructive weed. In Australia Queensland this plant grows as a weed and because a certain butterfly(Richmond Birdwing) prefers to lay its eggs on this plant. Unfortunately this plant cannot sustain the butterfly larvae and they die. This is threatening the survival of this beautiful butterfly. Still I think it is magical when its flower opens over here.
